Palm Paramee Panchaphalasom is a designer from Bangkok, Thailand, who is now based in Providence, Rhode Island. She is a Senior studying BFA Furniture Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her design practices revolve around personal identity, local way of life, shared experiences, and the power of memory. The narrative serves as a guiding element in her work, shaping her approach to different materials and forms. She seeks to expand her practice beyond traditional furniture design by integrating more conceptual and interactive elements, engaging not just with physical touch but also with the psychological and emotional aspects of human-object relationships.

In her current project, she explores the concept of the multiverse, using furniture as a medium to embody the infinite possibilities of existence. She reflects on the what-ifs and could-have-beens, questioning how our lives shift with every decision we make. At its core, the work examines why we reflect on the paths we didn’t take and how we might still find contentment in the present. Her goal is to open up this conversation to others, inviting the audience to engage with their own experiences, not just through thought, but through action, interaction, and emotional connection.

Beyond the studio, Palm has discovered a growing passion for photography and videography. For her, photography is not just a means of documentation, but a powerful tool for preserving time, evoking emotion, and shaping memory. She is drawn to the way an image, still in form, can hold movement, sound, and feeling in the viewer’s mind. Travel plays a key role in her process, not as an act of escape but as a deep observation. In her eyes, every place holds its own rhythm and emotion, and photography allows her to tune into those frequencies. By merging her design sensibilities with visual storytelling, she continues to explore how objects, images, and environments can connect us to ourselves and each other in quiet, meaningful ways.

In her free time, when she is not busy unfolding the mysteries of the universe, and many other universes, she enjoys exploring Google Maps, checking flight prices, and planning her next adventure. And she probably did one already.
